Concert Performances & Readings
Workshops are vital to the show. In the development process, being able to put the show on its feet in front of an audience in any capacity gets us that much closer to staging a full production. The feedback and reactions help us determine what’s working, what isn’t and will likely bring things to light that help move us forward
Each time ‘On The Horizon’ stages a workshop, we aim to employ local artists and instrumentalists and work to partner with a local theatre in an effort to lift up the host venue as well. We commit to compensating all involved at a competitive rate. We will treat every workshop's players with care and respect by hiring a creative team (director, music director, and stage manager) to ensure we maintain a professional work environment.
Rehearsals and Performance Dates will vary.
Budget Goal for Next Reading: $5,000.00
On the Horizon EP
Funding for creating an EP will allow us to produce 5 songs from the show and upload them to the major streaming platforms. This will not only reach more listeners, but will also aid in developing the sound of the show. In addition, having an EP will give us a leg up when pitching the show to producers.
Over the span of six months to a year, we plan to use this project as an employment opportunity for local artists. We have partnered with a local producer and project manager to outline the budget for creating the EP and determine how we will optimize the artists and production team's time. Using university connections, we hope this project will act as a door to the professional world for students looking to enter the field, granting them an opportunity to be part of a unique production experience outside of the typical university environment. This process will not only be a valuable learning experience, but will foster extensive collaboration, emphasizing the importance of every participant's voice throughout the recording process.
To ensure all participant's time is well-spent, a structured plan has been devised for both rehearsals and studio sessions. This approach ensures efficiency without compromising the artists' physical and mental well-being. In addition to the creative team, we have hired a project manager for the full duration of the EP's creation – providing employment for a working artist and guaranteeing that the artistic focus remains uninterrupted. This strategic decision aims to ensure those dedicated to the creation of the EP can concentrate on the artistic and musical aspects of the project.
